Praiseworthy System of the Month

February 2006
NOD's System (under the care of Rod)

Introduction

This aquarium was designed by Basil Cooper, NOD’s father, in 2000, the system was started with coral skeletons, no live rock, while live rock was added later, much of the original “dead rock” is still in the tank, well seeded by now. It’s a pleasure to look after with little maintenance, however it is being a little difficult at the moment. There is a little problem algae growth! Other than that the hard and soft corals are doing well.

Q & A
Things you like most about your system?
Stable and no work at all. Top up, feed and clean glass daily if we can!
Things you would change?
Dunno! Make it bigger? Change the return and overflow.
Favourite online resource?
www.garf .org
Best advice?
Keep it simple.
Worst advice?
Many years ago we used to add a fertiliser to encourage algae growth, the fertilizer was provided by a very reputable company who still supply very good products today. They no longer have the fertiliser in their product range.
Favorite Fish: Coral Beauty
Favorite Coral: My Open Brain. Trachyphillia Radiata (Not in this tank)
Wish List-
Fish: Yellow Tang
Coral: Pocillopora

Conclusion

NOD can’t say much more, except to say he is looking forward to the day he has settled and can reclaim his aquarium!
